It was a cold and windy day. You couldn’t tell by looking at these photos. My wonderful model braved the elements and I am so glad that she did.

Who cares that they aren’t technically brother and sister, but rather cousins. Their mothers are sisters and that makes them all one big happy family, and I was asked to take photos of the special bond all three have with each other. We had originally planned to do the session outside, but I am so happy that it was cold as I was able to take advantage of their gorgeously decorated home and use that as my backdrop.

  The garage. 4pm, sun started setting creating a natural line between the inside and the outside. Placed her by where the light stopped, pose and click.
The bathroom may not be the most obvious place to take photos, but the light in mine is wonderful. The suns warm glow that comes into the room in the afternoon, and this big window just calls for this photo to be taken.

This is why I pick up my camera, I want to remember it all, what they were wearing, eating, reading, or watching. If they were happy, calm, annoyed, or solemn. Doesn’t matter if they are sleeping, working, with their friends, or eating dinner. I want to remember it all. She was happy and played in her room for a long time. She taught her ‘stuffed’ friends their ABC’s. I’ll show her this photo when she is older and will remember what we did that morning. |
